Inspired by Diabetes is a global campaign asking people moved by the triumphs and challenges of those with diabetes and those who care for them to express their inspiration and share it with others around the world. With more than 246 million people diagnosed with diabetes worldwide, the campaign aims to bring diabetes to the public's attention, inspire action to improve diabetes care, and unite individuals, families and communities affected by diabetes around the world.

Inspired by Diabetes program is a collaboration between global champions Eli Lilly and Company, the International Diabetes Federation's (IDF) Unite for Diabetes initiative, and the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes.


At the heart of Inspired by Diabetes is the Creative Expression Competition, which seeks written and visual expressions of the triumphs and challenges of the diabetes journey. Children, adults, family members, friends and healthcare professionals (where applicable) are invited to participate and share how they have been inspired by diabetes.

For every contest entry, Lilly will donate money to IDF's Life for a Child program, which supports diabetes centers in developing countries that provide critically needed care and education for children with diabetes.
