is to bring families and people with diabetes together to raise awareness of the global burden of diabetes — and draw particular attention to people who do not have the resources they need to fight diabetes.

Often, life stories are inspired by small triumphs and great challenges. And for some children around the world, the challenge is no less than life or death.

Diabetes is a challenging journey that affects individuals, families and communities worldwide. Current estimates show that more than 246 million people around the globe are currently living with diabetes, and
tens of millions more will develop it in the coming years.

The Inspired by Diabetes Creative Expression Competition builds on the theme of the International Diabetes Federation's (IDF) World Diabetes Day, dedicated to children and adolescents living with or at risk of diabetes worldwide.

We believe that the stories of how individuals and families have taken action to tackle diabetes, regardless of circumstance or where they live, can help inspire others to act &mdsh; to improve the care of people with diabetes and to help overcome the obstacles that a life with diabetes can bring.

By entering the Creative Expression Competition, you can have a direct impact on others around the world.

For every contest entry, Lilly will donate money to IDF's Life for a Child program, which funds diabetes centers in developing countries to provide critically needed care and education to children with diabetes.

Share your story and inspire others.
